FATHER MOTHER SISTER BROTHER is a carefully composed feature film, structured as a triptych. The three stories revolve around the relationships of adult children with their sometimes distant parents and with each other. Each of the three chapters takes place in the present day, each in a different country: FATHER is set in the northeastern United States, MOTHER in Dublin, and SISTER BROTHER in Paris. It is a series of character studies, quiet, observant, and without judgment—and at the same time a comedy, interwoven with subtle threads of melancholy.
